Matt Marvuglio is dean of the professional performance division at Berklee College of Music.
He has performed throughout the US, Europe, and Japan premiering his own compositions for flute.
He has been the jazz chair of the National Flute Association and has presented clinics for the Acoustic Society of America, the International Association of Jazz Educators, and was a soloist/clinician for the British Flute Society and the International Flute Convention in Sao Paolo, Brasil.
Matt has authored articles on jazz flute playing in The Instrumentalist and other national magazines. Matt is the flute soloist on the instructional demonstration CD/book package, “Reading Key Jazz Rhythms”, written by Fred Lipsius and published by Advance Music. His composition, “Simples of the Moon” (for [processed] flute, EWI MIDI wind controller, and acoustic and electronic percussion), may be heard on the CD, "Divinations," by Dean Anderson on Neuma Records His most recent recording is with Phil Wilson for the Capri label where he is featured on bass flute. Also, he is the curriculum editor and composer for the Berklee Practice Method series.
